Lord,
You grant me great and best days
but you also allow "dark hours".
I know there's a purpose and a reason.
For these tests mean victory.
I love you.
so hold me,
just hold me,
hold me so tight.
and bless me,
Amen!

Hunger Games
I love this habit of writing my heart out before working on something important. I am down to 3 more narrative reports for my Kinder class but I just wanna pause and blog for a while.
Happy Hunger Games! Thanks to my dearest best friend who introduced me to this story that's now a major motion picture and did hit box office on it's first few days. I really found the movie incredibly amazing. Maybe because I haven't seen such a good movie for a long time.
I am also presently reading the first installment of this trilogy. Over the weekend, I have a read a number of reviews about this movie. I don't think it's becoming over-rated like that of "Magnum" ice cream bar because there is really something about this movie.
One review said it was crafted in a very superior way that it's not worth comparing to "Twilight" and "Harry Potter". I say, superior indeed. Female superiority is what the movie is all about. I got so intrigued that I had to research on the author's life. I wonder if she led some feminist group before she wrote this movie or had a past that compelled her to write a somewhat cruel, violent but mind-changing, thrill-arousing and very thought-provoking movie.
To my surprise, I found out that Collins used to be a writer for children's television shows. She has a husband, two kids and two cats. Now, her book Hunger Games is significantly very popular!
A movie is worth five stars for me if they help you forget-about-something or get-over-someone or inspire you to give your best on what your'e doing. Hungry Games did that for me.
LOST in LOVE
I think Katniss and Peeta are cool. They changed the way a love story should be. Katniss (female tribute) is the knight in her shining armor while Peeta(male tribute) was the sweety damsel in distress. A female lead character finally possessed a love-life. This is the movie I have been waiting for! I have dreaded movies with male superhero characters that tag along their female love interests while female heroes aren't allowed to pursue their men. (should write more about this next time)
Why Hunger Games?
I'm in for the games and in for the hunger. People are hungry, not just for good movies. They are hungry for attention, for acceptance and recognition. Hungry for truth, justice, love and peace. Well, I am hungry for change, for challenges, for an adventure that will drive me crazy! Look around you and you'll see human beings hungry for food, water , shelter.
This hunger is awesome because this hunger can be a very important "salvation" tool. This hunger can lead and bring us a huge wave of souls to Christ. Only Jesus can fill and satisfy all these HUNGER GAMES going on around our communities, churches, families, cities, nation and individual lives.

No need to play the game!
Come as you are to Christ!
There's no use if the whole world is watching,
God is watching!
He sees everything!
I know he sees me and

Happy Feet
Other titles I could have otherwise used for this post: Do the Tap Dance, Dancin' Under Pressure or Change the World Dancing
Just before I get into "busyness", I want to share my heart and my thoughts off the cutest penguin movie ever, Happy Feet 2!
Mumble and Gloria's love birthed the most adorable penguin, Erik!
Erik thought he was different, misunderstood and laughed at. He was in search for something, for meaning. He was hungry to see change and to bring change. He wanted to run away and leave Emperor-Land.
Erik meets Sven and learned the "Sven Think" principle.
Erik instantly grew fond of Sven. He became enamored by his ability to fly. Penguins from Adelie-land called him Mighty Sven. Then, at the later part of the movie, you'll find out he was not a penguin after all because penguins can't fly and they just don't fly.
Then we meet Bill and Will, two little krills who have been swarming all their lives. They too were in search and hungry for something new!
There have been so many things written about Ramon so I don't want to talk about him anymore. This sweet line will do:
"As long as we're together we're already home."
My Dug Down Deep Reflections:
It was amazing how dancing changed the entire course of the whole penguin nation. I was crying in the last 5 minutes of the movie. I thought about my dear Philippines and I felt sooooo sad but at the same time encouraged that something can really be done and change is really possible for my very own nation. This is the very reason why I am leaving the preschool classroom. After 8 years of teaching, I have decided to temporarily give up teaching kids as my work but it will still be my ministry.(meaning I won't be in a preschool but will still be in Sunday school and outreaches)
"One little krill can change the world." Either Will or Bill said this line. Just looking at its size and what it can do seems totally impossible but yes, those little krills, working together, dancing together played a major part in breaking the ice berg. This tells me, that anyone can help change this world. One little you or one little me, better yet, a little "us".
Because the world is changing, we must get on for the ride. I'm not sure if I got it right but it sure makes sense. Bill and Will added, it's either we "adapt or die". Things are changing, times are changing and people SHOULD start changing.
"When things go wrong, running away is not the answer." So many things are wrong in this country. It's been 28 years. I have seen it and I decided to never leave the Philippines. I can go out to travel for fun and pleasure but not to work and earn more money. I have been in my church for almost 18 years now. I have been tempted to run away for so many times but I'm still there. When it comes to work, I don't run away, I just find something better. A better place for me to grow and to promote my Master.
Every step counts. These are just powerful words for me. No matter how small the steps that have been taken just yet, it counts. And steps that are ordered and ordained by a sovereign and loving God will surely be brought to completion, ready to proclaim his glory.
It wasn't just an ordinary feel good movie. There's a lot more to Happy Feet 2 than just singing and dancing. It kind of covered everything I learned for the whole semester in my Organizational Behavior and Development class.
Teamwork, How to Handle Stress and Conflict, Power, Decision Making and Change!
So with all my deadlines pressing on me, I say,
P.S. plus such a fantastic soundtrack! I love Pink's "Bridge of Light".

awesome!
There is something about this word that I really love!
I love how it sounds especially when I say it and when I here kids blurt it out when they see something cool!
But truthfully, this word is exclusively for one Man alone. He became man after all.
God is awesome!
Here's something I made on September 19, 2010.
Lord, You are just awesome,
Sooo, sooo awesome,
Full of awesomeness,
awesomer,
awesomest!
I am in awe when I'm in your presence, Lord!
I love acrostics. I've made some for my friends and family.
This one's for you!
You are AWESOME!
Always and forever mine
Wonderfully watching over me 24/7
Ever present in good and bad times
Such a faithful lover
On the go all the time to pursue me
Mercifully merciful
Everything to me
How can I live a day not thanking you?
How can I not celebrate every single day you've gifted me?
Every little crap, dirt and mess all around my workplace, my city and even in my very church will serve as life's confetti to me.
They make life exciting and just a little more worth living!
I love you on this beautiful Saturday morning, Papa God!
Just keep surprising me!

Pro.Vision Kids, All the Love in the World
The preschool where I work hosts a yearly gift-giving activity. This year, I was blessed to have had the chance to suggest that we invite the Pro.Vision Kids.
On September 2011, I started volunteering and helping at a feeding ministry by CFM at Tagunol, Pardo. The original feeding site was at Inayawan but because God has so graciously provided, they have opened two new sites.
I am into kid's ministry and I'll do just about anything for kids. I have taught preschoolers for eight years now. I am teaching in a private school which means smarter kids, kids in a more comfortable and pleasant condition. This means that the kids I serve every Saturday during feeding are a lot different than the kids I spend time with everyday.
Even before I met these Pro.Vision kids, I have already opened myself to this kind of ministry to less fortunate children. So it's not really hard, just some special thinking and praying strategies and things work out well all the time.
Back to this story, February 23, 2012 was scheduled as "Love day" at Discovery Camp. Oh, that's today! Pro.Visions kids-19 of them with 8 adults sweetly squeezed in one van came to our school this morning. They arrived at 9:20. Kinder and Prep campers were in their respective classrooms waiting expectantly for their guests.
I met the team at the gate( 19 kids, 1 girl can't make it, 8 adults, Pastor Jun, Pastor Rey, Katie, Mirella, Leny, Cherry Rose, Mariel and the mother of the Magalona siblings). I can see very excited faces as if telling me, "We know there's every good thing in store for us today, Teacher Jane!" And they were right. We started off with their 'live' mini-performance. They sang 3 songs from their CD. (Stand Up Tall, Tell My Friends and Heaven).
After their short show, the interaction began in the two classrooms. They were assigned to be with a buddy from our school. They played together, built blocks, read books, drew and colored. They also enjoyed our story, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
When it was already time for snacks, Kinder campers led their buddies to wash their hands. We prayed and then everyone munched on their spaghetti, barbecue, bread, popcorn and juice. I was so proud of my Kinder campers who were at their best behavior on that day.
Then came the giving of gifts. I was pretty sure this was their favorite part. Wows and thank yous filled the air. I saw happy hearts that gave and happy hearts that received. What a fascinating sight!
A short playtime at the playground followed and an ice cream treat awaited everyone just before they all jumped in to the van.
We gave individual gifts, we raffled some special toys and there were still more gifts to bring home and share to the other kids at Inayawan and Tagunol who were not able to come.
Our caroling fund last December and the so many generous gifts from our parents in school made this whole event a success. My boss and fellow teachers have also been very supportive.

To the God of every good and perfect gift,
the God of every good and perfect vision!
Mama's Love
this is not just a famous brand name for a baby powder or cotton
my Mama's love is also an everyday manifestation of God's love for me
I will tell you why and how...
When I need someone who'll listen to me, she's there, ready and willing, no comments, just listening!
When I'm mad and frustrated about the rotten system of this world, she's there, still, just listening.
Talk about lessons and values in life:
forgiveness, respect and service? I couldn't have learned this anywhere but in my Mama's school of love.
She has modeled forgiveness to me and her personal demonstration on how she forgave herself for past mistakes, her family and my dear Papa is just so inspiring.
As for respect, she has taught me to greet everyone I meet anytime of the day. This, I admit I haven't strictly followed and practiced in my life.
My Mama is the mama for all seasons. She offers a daily dose of service to everyone around her and that includes our family, church and community. No wonder everyone calls her, "Mama Lyn"!
She is sweet, selfless and hilarious.
Talk about technology?
Shes's learning, that's what she'll tell you.
Prayer Life?
Maybe that's why I am what I am now. My Mama is always on her knees praying for me, my Papa and my brothers. She loves God. She loves to pray. She loves people. She loves my Papa so much and I know she loves me and my brothers so, so dearly.
Once, when asked during a job interview about the person I want to be like in this lifetime, I replied, " My Mama!" I don't know why I said that because there is nothing interestingly and particularly perfect about her but there is something deep inside her that makes me want to be like her.

I had been wanting to write this piece of work and I will make sure she reads this. After all, this is for her.
I love my Mama and my Mama loves me with all her hearts. She loves me with her hearts of care, laughter, pride, sorrow and peace.
And there's not a day in this life that my heart forgets to joyfully cry out, " Thank you God for Moms and thank you for my Mama Lyn!"
